Very short stories with a great moral value and meaning for our life by the English-culture blog and the world of English<\/span><\/p>\n

When I was young I did not like to get up early, and my mother hated this behavior of me because she dreamed of seeing me one day as a rich merchant.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
And one day my mother went with me to the teacher to tell me the benefits of getting up early.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Teacher: Socrates, I will tell you a beautiful story, and you will tell me what did you gain from it, okay?<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Socrates: All right!<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The teacher: There were two birds, one of which woke up early and ate insects and fed his young, and the second woke up late and could not find anything to eat… What did you learn from the story, Socrates?!<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Socrates: Insects that get up early are eaten by birds.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Deaf Frog<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA group of frogs were traveling through the forest when two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that there was no hope left for them.<\/span>
\nHowever, the two frogs ignored their comrades and proceeded to try to jump out of the pit. However, despite their efforts, the group of frogs at the top of the pit were still saying that they should just give up as they\u2019d never make it out.<\/span>
\nEventually, one of the frogs took heed of what the others were saying and he gave up, jumping even deeper to his death. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the group of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and to just die.<\/span>
\nHe ignored them, and jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, \u2018Did you not hear us?\u2019<\/span>
\nThe frog explained to them that he was deaf, and that he thought they were encouraging him the entire time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The precious value of life<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The precious value of life<\/span><\/p>\n

A man went to God and asked, “What’s the value of life?”<\/span>
\nGod gave him one stone and said, “Find out the value of this stone, but don’t sell it.”<\/span>
\nThe man took the stone to an Orange Seller and asked him what it’s cost would be.<\/span>
\nThe Orange Seller saw the shiny stone and said, “You can take 12 oranges and give me the stone.”<\/span>
\nThe man apologized and said that the God has asked him not to sell it.<\/span>
\nHe went ahead and found a vegetable seller. “What could be the value of this stone?” he asked the vegetable seller. The seller saw the shiny stone and said, “Take one sack of potatoes<\/span>
\nand give me the stone.”<\/span>
\nThe man again apologized and said he can’t sell it.<\/span>
\nFurther ahead, he went into a jewelery shop and asked the value of the stone.<\/span>
\nThe jeweler saw the stone under a lens and said, “I’ll give you 50 Lakhs <\/span>for this stone.” When the man shook his head, the jeweler said, “Alright, <\/span>alright, take 2 crores, but give me the stone.”<\/span>
\nThe man explained that he can’t sell the stone. Further ahead, the man saw a precious stone’s shop and <\/span>asked the seller the value of this stone.<\/span>
\nWhen the precious stone’s seller saw the big ruby, he lay down a red cloth and put the ruby on it. Then he walked in circles around the ruby and bent down and touched his head in front of the ruby.<\/span>
\n“From where did you bring this priceless ruby from?” he asked. “Even if I sell <\/span>the whole world, and my life, I won’t be able to purchase this priceless stone.<\/span>
\nStunned and confused, the man returned to the God and told him what <\/span>had happened. “Now tell me what is the value of life, God?<\/span>
\nGod said, “The answers you got from the Orange Seller, the <\/span>Vegetable Seller, the Jeweler & the Precious Stone’s Seller <\/span>explain the value of our life..<\/span>
\nYou may be a precious stone, even priceless, but <\/span>people may value you based on their level of information, their belief in you, their motive behind entertaining you, their ambition, and their risk taking ability. But don’t fear, you will surely find someone who will discern your true value.<\/span>
\nIn the eyes of God You are very very precious ???<\/span>
\nRespect yourself. You are Unique. No one can Replace you!<\/span><\/p>\n

Having A Best Friend<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Having A Best Friend<\/span><\/p>\n

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.<\/span>
\nThe one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand;<\/span>
\n\u201cToday my best friend slapped me in the face.\u201d<\/span>
\nThey kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone;<\/span>
\n\u201cToday my best friend saved my life.\u201d<\/span>
\nThe friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him;<\/span>
\n\u201cAfter I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?\u201d<\/span>
\nThe other friend replied;<\/span>
\n\u201cWhen someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.\u201d<\/span>
\nMoral of the story: <\/span>
\nDon\u2019t value the things you have in your life. But value who you have in your life.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Farmer horse short story<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A farmer lost his horse<\/span>
\nOnce upon the time there was an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit. \u201cSuch bad luck,\u201d they said sympathetically.<\/span>
\n\u201cMaybe,\u201d the farmer replied.<\/span>
\nThe next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses. \u201cHow wonderful,\u201d the neighbors exclaimed.<\/span>
\n\u201cMaybe,\u201d replied the old man.<\/span>
\nThe following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune.<\/span>
\n\u201cMaybe,\u201d answered the farmer.<\/span>
\nThe day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son\u2019s leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out.<\/span>
\n\u201cMaybe,\u201d said the farmer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Elephant and the Rope<\/span><\/p>\n

A gentleman was walking through an elephant camp, and he spotted that the elephants weren\u2019t being kept in cages or held by the use of chains.<\/span>
\nAll that was holding them back from escaping the camp, was a small piece of rope tied to one of their legs.<\/span>
\nAs the man gazed upon the elephants, he was completely confused as to why the elephants didn\u2019t just use their strength to break the rope and escape the camp. They could easily have done so, but instead, they didn\u2019t try to at all.<\/span>
\nCurious and wanting to know the answer, he asked a trainer nearby why the elephants were just standing there and never tried to escape.<\/span>
\nThe trainer replied: \u201cwhen they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it\u2019s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.\u201d<\/span>
\nThe only reason that the elephants weren\u2019t breaking free and escaping from the camp was that over time they adopted the belief that it just wasn\u2019t possible.<\/span><\/p>\n
