Poll Analysis: PFBlogs.org Should Remain Ad-Free…Here’s Why.

I originally thought it’d be great for Flexo to make some cash, since he’s hosting pfblogs.org, but the more I thought about the more I realized I was wrong. Here’s a link to my original poll post. PFBlogs.org should remain ad-free.

POLL: Pfblogs.org Should Drop ‘Ad-Free’ and Start Making Some Cash…

I think pfblogs.org is a great tool, but I’m not sure it’s realizing its full potential by being ‘ad-free’.  I personally think Flexo should add some advertising to it.  Who’s Flexo?  He’s the webmaster for pfblogs.org.  It’s a great site that offers everyone, even “non-friends,” a place to have their posts easily accessible.  Plus he might be able to offer “friend” status for a better price ;).

Would you rather quit or be fired?

POLL: Costco Or Sam’s Club? Which Do You Prefer?

Working from home: What dollar value would you put on it?

Alright, it’s pretty obvious Costco and Sam’s Club are sworn enemies.  There’s hardly a situation in retail where it’s battle between just two, but in the case of Costco and Sam’s Club, there really are just 2 (I think).  1-on-1 battle for the hearts and souls of bulk shoppers everywhere.

Which would you choose between the two?  If you would choose another big box wholesaler that I may not be aware of vote ‘other’ and leave a comment!

Poll Analysis: Value of Working From Home And Non-Disclosed Ads.

In the past few weeks, I’ve had a couple of polls, the first being about the value of working from home and the second about non-disclosed links on blogs, or sites in general.  I got great feedback on the poll for working from home, but not so great participation in the non-disclosed links poll.  Maybe it has to do with the type of question, and how important it is to people in general?  I’ll need to work on that.  Luckily I’m not a pollster.  :)

Poll: Are You Offended By Non-Disclosed Referral Links?

What do I mean?  Well, sometimes, links can be more than just a link.  They are “referral” or “affiliate” links.  These links basically have some incentive offer given to the website owners, for example, a commission of sales, some dollar value per click, etc.  These can be hidden.

For example, consider these two links:  Link 1 and Link 2

Can you tell which one is the affiliate link?  (Answer below and an explanation)

Poll: Working From Home, What’s It Worth?

I’m curious, what kind of value would you place on working from home?  Pennies?  A couple hundred?  A few thousand?  More?  Not a benefit.  Leave a comment with the specific value you’d give it…

EDIT:  Annually…I was thinking along the lines of a new offer…sorry, I should’ve been clearer.

Poll Analysis: On the First Date, Who Pays?

Here’s the analysis to my poll, “On the First Date, Who Pays?“  To be frank (Not the FSA), I’m shocked!  I was expecting death threats in my inbox, comments to end myself, and angry women at my doorstep (that would’ve been interesting), but I guess the question isn’t as earth shattering as I expected.  Phew!  I thought the “Man” option would have been a slam dunk as the majority vote.  I voted for it myself.  Credit SingleMa for bringing up the thought.

Poll Analysis: Degree & Career, Related?

Thanks to all those who contributed.

I was hoping to get a feel of how many people graduated from a specific field and actually get jobs in the fields they studied for.  I know some of my friends spent their first few years of college flipping between various majors.  I guess the argument could be made that maybe you should just graduate with a degree somewhat related to what you want to go into.

Is Your Degree and Career Related?

Yes, Definitely. (33%)
Somewhat. (39%)
No, Not At All. (28%)

Total Votes: 18

I do still believe that the degree is not as critical, rather work experience and graduating with any degree is more important.  Of course, for some fields, degree is more critical, consider medicine for example.  It’d be hard to become a doctor with a degree in math.

It’s not too late to vote, so if you’d like, please do so…I don’t have any plans to close my previous polls
