I’m Sorry…

It’s been awhile since I’ve actually been active on my blog for a period of more than a couple days in a long time, in the meantime, I feel like I’ve alienated many of my fellow bloggers and for that I’m sorry.

It was never my intention to do that, but I did. I just lost interest in so many things, and unfortunately, blogging was one of them.

Plastic Is Dangerous If Handled Improperly…

Many, many moons ago, NCN and I had a discussion on credit.  We definitely have differences in opinion on this topic, but it’s always a great debate.  NCN has a new post that’s worth a second look.

I don’t think debt is enslaving, after all you control the keys to getting out of debt. Debt is a good thing, if managed properly. It’s sort of like the argument on diet…moderation is the key. Properly used, debt can boost your bottom line. What do you think?

Living Paycheck to Paycheck…

I was just over at one of my favorite blogs, It’s Just Money, hosted by a person I’ve coined LAMoneyDude, and he had a post titled, “Living Paycheck to Paycheck: Reality vs. WTF.” In case you didn’t know what WTF means, here’s a link. :)

The term “living paycheck to paycheck” definitely has a different meaning depending on who you are and whether you’re looking at it from above (making more) or below (making less). For me, it means being able to survive on the money you bring in every week. No luxuries, just necessities. Apparently to some, it means spending up to how much you make each week…hmph.

Changing Up My Links

I’ve decided to alter my links in the right sidebar.  The “Great PF Blogs” section shows PF Bloggers who have helped contribute so much to my site by commenting.  These fellow PF Bloggers have contributed over 20 comments each!  So, I’m creating a section dedicated just to them.  As more pass this threshold, I’ll gladly add you to this section.  I hope it grows!

Then when “Great PF Blogs” gets past 20 links, I’ll create another section called “Great Great PF Blogs” where folks who have commented over x number of times get added, and so on!  Great Great Great.

The “More Great PF Blogs” section contains links to bloggers limited to 30 at a time, and displayed in random order.  To be added, just contact me. Great :).

A Book Review By Freedumb?!?!

Yeah, you heard it right…on Friday, October 27th, I’ll be writing up a review on the book title The Bogleheads’ Guide to Investing.  My first book since Dr. Seuss’ Oh, the Place You’ll Go.  Given to me by a friend!  (ahem)

Be sure to check out the ongoing reviews of the book at AllFinancialMatters and many other great bloggers!

Why October Is Going To Be a Good One

It’s going to be an exciting month! Great things happening for bloggers and readers.

This will be a short post, but I just wanted to remind everyone of all the events going on in the PF Blogging community dealing with “promotion” type deals. I’m again crunched for time this week.

First let me start of with the Boglehead Project being hosted by JLP @ AllThingsFinancial. Today is day 1, so be sure to check it out!

By the way, it’s Boglehead, after John Bogle of Vanguard, and not bobblehead, which are those figures that have big heads that “bobble.” Oddly a bobble head is on the cover.

Next up the Freedumb October Contest! All you need to do is comment to win 40, 20, or 10 bucks!! Check it out. It’s probably one of the easiest contests ever!

My apologizies to Flexo because he also decided to run an October contest, but he’s changing it. I think it would’ve been great to have that one going on as well!

Speaking of multiple contests, there’s one more going on at Adventures in Money Making…win a $50 Amazon.com gift certificate! Check it out as well.

So look out! Put some extra time aside for reading and writing…October 06 is going to be a good one!

Poll Analysis: PFBlogs.org Should Remain Ad-Free…Here’s Why.

I originally thought it’d be great for Flexo to make some cash, since he’s hosting pfblogs.org, but the more I thought about the more I realized I was wrong. Here’s a link to my original poll post. PFBlogs.org should remain ad-free.

Take a Trip On Over To Crapville, USA…Compliments Of the Frugal Duchess and Freedumb!

I had the honor of submitting a guest column to the Frugal Duchess’ blog today, and I hope you have sometime to head on over and check it out!  I know most PF Bloggers and readers don’t live a Crapville life, but I’m sure you know some that do.

Thanks Sharon (Frugal Duchess)!

Watch As a Cricket Outruns Student Debt…or Your Windshield.

Cashcricket.comI don’t have a blog of the week or spotlight posts, but I really do like many of the blogs out there.  I just wish I had more time.  Last week I got an email from Jiminy (not his real name), and he told me about his blog.  It was a great email…I really enjoyed it, so I asked him for a post that I could feature on my blog.  I encourage anyone who wants me to do the same for their blogs to send me an email.  I can’t promise you instant response, but I will try my best.

POLL: Pfblogs.org Should Drop ‘Ad-Free’ and Start Making Some Cash…

I think pfblogs.org is a great tool, but I’m not sure it’s realizing its full potential by being ‘ad-free’.  I personally think Flexo should add some advertising to it.  Who’s Flexo?  He’s the webmaster for pfblogs.org.  It’s a great site that offers everyone, even “non-friends,” a place to have their posts easily accessible.  Plus he might be able to offer “friend” status for a better price ;).

Working from home: What dollar value would you put on it?
