Interesting Article on 2013 Salaries.

20 Mar

I found an article on salaries in 2013 specifically about the IT field.

http://images.globalknowledge.com/wwwimages/pdfs/2013_salaryreport.pdf

Salaries IT 2013

The article concludes:

Conditions for IT organizations continue a trend of gradual improvement, but challenges remain. More respondents to the current study than to last year’s reported difficult business conditions at their companies, and fewer managers authorized training in the past year. The percentage of respondents who reported feeling insecure in their position held firm since last year’s survey, remaining four points higher than in 2011. However, there are reasons for optimism.

Though IT and business professionals have limited, if any, control over the global economy and its effect on their organizations, they do have the power to influence the value they bring to the organization. This remains a good step toward elevating personal success and economic stability.

Odd, I make $100,000 a year, but I’m in the top 10% of Americans?

07 Mar

I just finished up my tax returns.  Things have gotten a lot more complicated in the past few years, but it just occured to me that I’m in the top 10% of Americans with a wage of just around 100,000 US$.  Is that accurate?  I really would’ve expected to be in the top 25% but not 10%.

Best Time to Buy Air Travel Tickets

17 Jan

Found this interesting article on the best time to buy air tickets:  http://www.nbcnews.com/travel/travelkit/counting-days-best-deals-airfare-1B8007203

Quick observation finds about 60 days out to be the best time, but it depends on market.  Interestingly, Tuesday and Wednesdays are the best days to buy tickets.  Good luck on the best deals and safe travels to you!

More notes to self…about the GOP and why they lost.

07 Nov

From CNN.com article:

“You remember when Ryan stood up in front of nation during the Republican National Convention and blamed the president for a plant closing in Janesville, Wisconsin? Yeah, turns out the closure was planned before Obama even took office. The people in Janesville knew the truth, which is probably why more than 60% of the county it’s in voted for Obama.”  (reference link)

Here’s a link to Rock county’s election results:  http://www.politico.com/2012-election/results/president/wisconsin/#county55105

Janesville, Wisconsin resides in Rock county.

Predicted Obama would win in October 2011.

07 Nov

Not bragging, but if you’re wondering why Obama won…read this post.

http://www.financialfreedumb.com/2011/10/25/why-obama-will-win-re-election/

The Republicans better change and learn to compromise.  I really hope Obama pulls a hard line on the fiscal cliff and lays 100% of the blame on the GOP if it doesn’t happen.  If I were president, I would demand the GOP agree to my terms this time around, and I would let the public know I’m doing so in the best interest of the people.  I would make it very clear to the people, that I have already agreed to a portion of the GOP’s demands, now it’s their turn to give a little back.

No more Mr. Nice Guy President Obama!

Why the GOP must change or die off.

06 Nov

The GOP is destined to go the way of the dinosaur in a few years.  Ok few years might be exaggerating a little…Don’t get me wrong, small government and debt reduction makes sense, but that’s about it.

The GOP is being destroyed by their lack of tolerance and vision for the future.  I always believed that everything can be refined…social programs, compassion doesn’t have to fall victim to a small budget or small government.  You can stick to principles of inclusion and tolerance, while doing more.  It’s about being smarter.  If the GOP doesn’t start to understand that the black & white view of the world doesn’t exist, and never really did, then the party will die off.

Besides the stuff that makes sense, debt and small government, the GOP is too elitist and exclusionary.  This country is no longer just white people.  It’s no longer just Catholic.  It’s a diverse mix of compassionate, more educated people.  The GOP also needs to rid itself of all of its contradiction.  Guns & bibles.  Pro-Life & Pro-Death.  Worse, Pro-Life & no healthcare for the child.  Fiscal responsibility & over sized militaries.  Less regulation & rules, except when it comes to women’s rights and marriage.  People are getting smarter.  People are becoming more tolerant.

One of the biggest negative personality traits of Republicans is that they don’t understand how to believe in what they believe in WHILE allowing others to believe in their own, different principles.  In other words, Republicans just don’t get how to let others live as they choose.  Just because you don’t agree with it, doesn’t mean others have to be forced to believe that as well.  Just don’t do it!  Don’t agree with abortion?  Then don’t do it!  Don’t agree with gay marriage?  Then don’t do it!  I don’t like guns, but I don’t believe in making others get rid of them.  People may argue, well liberals are doing the same thing, forcing their views on others, and that’s completely wrong.

Here’s the difference in case you are still confused:  Most democrats, liberals, and even some conservatives believe in principles but at the same time they don’t let their principles limit or prevent others from pursuing their beliefs and principles.

Tolerance is key.  And this doesn’t just mean tolerance on the surface by having a couple of minorities in your photo ops, it means really being admired by all.  The future is a nation of smarter, more tolerant people.

Choose your future GOP.  Or natural selection (or God, if you prefer) will choose it for you.  Look at the division in the party already…it’s already begun.  Don’t drink too much Tea.

Man Up Romney!

18 Sep

Romney, Ryan & GOP:

If you are man enough to tell women they can’t have abortions,

Then man up and make sure these kids don’t grow up without health care.

GOP THE PARTY OF CONTRADICTIONS.

This is how we feed animals…

29 Aug

SURPRISE!  The GOP party of white people has accidentally shown their true colors…yet again.

Two people were removed from the Republican National Convention Tuesday night following an incident involving a black, female camera operator, who allegedly was racially taunted on the convention floor.

Current TV host David Shuster tweeted late Tuesday night: “GOP attendee ejected for throwing nuts at African American camera woman + saying ‘This is how we feed animals.’”

Interesting considering Mitt doesn’t even have a black, asian, or any minority on his economic team.  Oh, but he does have two women.  Amazing!

Wealthiest Nation in the World, Yet We Don’t Guarantee Medical care?

27 Aug

Can someone please explain the logic that, as the wealthiest nation in the world, we don’t guarantee everyone of our citizens medical coverage?  How is it that many other nations, poorer than the USA, can afford to do it, but we cannot?

Why do people think that medical coverage is an “option”?  Don’t the people of the USA get it?  Every citizen of the United States has a right to health coverage.  Come on USA…WAKE UP!
