The world absolutely sucks. So much crap going on in the world, who cares about finances? Okay, I still care, but lately, not as much. Since finances aren’t so important to me at the moment for some unknown resason. I thought I’d share some feelings with you–some financial, others not–of things I just don’t understand in the world today.
- How people can spend over $30 on a damn haircut. Applies to males only. Females you can kind of understand. Hmmm, why is that? I think it’s because they have more hair?! :S
- Why are people not complaining about gas prices like the first time it went sky high (over $3.00).
- Why is the stock market continuing to increase so damn quickly.
- Why people buy things that are WAAAY to expensive.
- How people can be concerned about pennies, yet at the same time make millions.
- Why do some people actually think our country is headed in the right direction?
- Why does the media print nothing but sad news? Well mostly sad, depressing news anyway. It seems like something that would so easily change the morale of America…by showing more happy things on the front page.
- Why it’s so hard to find a job I’m happy with.
- Why are the g’damn tip jars still by the cash registers?!?!?
That is all. Please return to your normal activities. Sorry for taking up 2 mins of your time, but thanks for reading…

:shock:Oh my!
Freedumb - BREATHE!
1. $30 on a hair cut for a guy is crazy - I can do a buzz cut free or we have a barber in town for $10
2. Honey, all I do is complain about the gas prices - there are only so many times you can beat a dead horse.
3. Stocks - scary stuff - I feel that there are other things at play here. Things going on behind the scene. I’m not a pro though so *shrug*
4. I’m not buying anything way expensive right now, I think we are headed for hard times - paying off debts and saving cash are my goals.
5. Concern for the pennies has been known to build wealth. In times like these, we need to resort back to this plan and for get the plan “spend money to make money”.
6. People don’t think we are moving in the right direction- they see hope with the promise of a new government and hope is gained by vocalizing the promise. It is what keeps us going.
7. Tragedy sells. People don’t generally stop to see a child help an elderly person, yet when an accident happens on the highway - everyone looks. Same with the paper, tv and radio
8. I think your not looking for the right job. What do you enjoy? Do that and everything else will work out. Even if it is for minimum wage. Happiness is the goal for you, not money.
9. Ignore the tip jar - I do! They do not need a tip if they are just working a counter and you are taking your product with you!
Here’s a big bear hug *squeezing tight*!
Feel better now?
Freedumb,
I sense a feeling of discontent, no? It is the trying times that both build and reveal our character. Most of what you wrote is WAY outside of your control. But it seems to me that your current work situation or something else in your personal life is magnifying everything disagreeable in the world for you.
Maybe I’m way off. Just playing a little arm chair/internet psychologist. Anyway, I hope things start looking up in the world around you.
LA $ Dude
You guys are both right. I’m not really as angry at the world as the post might have come across. But portions of it reflect thoughts that came across on different days. I dunno what it is…
Yes, D you made me feel much better! And thanks LMG for the consult…how much do I owe u? lol
This one’s on me. You can buy me a beer next time I’m in Hawaii.
I agree with most of your comments, yet I pay $31 for my haircut ($25 haircut + $5 tip + $1 tip for hair washer). Yet this is at a pretty average hairdresser. The issue is that I live in New York City where everything is expensive. And yes, a few females I know regularly pay $70+ for their haircuts (and more if they want anything special done such as coloring).
That said, I totally agree with your comment about the tip jar thing. I’ve only been living in the U.S. for a few years and so I am still getting used to the whole tipping thing. I think the best place I’ve seen tip jars is at Dunkin Donuts - they have a tip jar for someone getting you a coffee….I still can’t get over that.
As for gas - I’m long energy stocks and don’t have a car.
I’m selling stocks in the stock market - I agree the markets are a little crazy at the moment - just check out the Chinese stock market.
And seriously, stop reading or watching regular news and just read blogs or hit the internet for news instead - I’m sick of watching mainstream TV as well.
Valid opinions. The only comment I’d make is that people who have millions probably got that way by worrying about pennies. Old habits die hard.
I really can’t stand tip jars. If someone deserves a tip, I’ll give them one, but it’s going to be at my discretion.
Sometimes it just feels good to vent! I’m with you on all of those issues. I guess that’s what makes the world so great, everyone has different ways of spending their money
