The results for my week 1 picks (Thursday pick, Monday night pick) came up pretty good! Except my Monday Night Pick. OUCH is right LMG.
- Miami (+1) @ Pittsburgh – Spread: Pittsburgh, Without: Pittsburgh
WIN: I expected a close game…was a little surprised that Pitt pulled off a 28-17 victory. I originally guessed that it’d end lower at 17-10. Pitt scared me a bit in the middle…Superbowl bound? Possibly. - Dallas (+2) @ Jacksonville – Spread: Dallas, Without: Dallas
LOSS: Dallas should’ve won this one. I think Jacksonville has got a good team, but I think Dallas has got a Superbowl team. - Chicago (-3.5) @ Greenbay – Spread: Chicago, Without: Chicago
WIN: Favre’s performance kind of made me feel bad. I think he should’ve retired last season, but give that guy credit, he’s a warrior. Seeing him on TV, I can tell that guy does not want to quit. His body is saying otherwise though. Chicago’s another possible Superbowl candidate. - New Orleans vs. Cleveland – OVER 35.5
LOSS: Last time I bet on two crappy teams. You just have no idea what the results will be. Not that it’s easier to pick against two good teams. Hah. I think Cleveland will be good in 2 seasons. I like Charlie Frye, he’s my super sleeper pick. Oh well, I don’t like over/unders too much anyway. - Philadelphia (-5.5) @ Houston – Spread: Philly, Without: Philly
WIN: Philly is another contender. Houston is not. Houston put up a pretty tough show intially though. This year will be McNabb’s chance to shine, and I do not expect he will dissappoint. - San Francisco (+7.5) @ Arizona – Spread: San Fran, Without: San Fran!
WIN: YES! My dumb pick pulled through. The Niners are a developing team. Arizona is good, but I think they are going to dissappoint yet again. I expect all games featuring either of these two teams to be high scoring. Niners a superbowl team? Uhh, not yet. Odds are set at 150:1 that SF will win the superbowl. - Cincinnati (+1.5) @ Kansas City – Spread: Cincy, Without: Kansas City
WIN: Cinncy is another Superbowl contender. I thought it would’ve been a lot closer though. I was expecting something like 31-30. - PENDING San Diego @ Oakland (+3) – Spread: Oakland, Without: Oakland
LOSS: OUCH! I knew I shouldn’t have made any picks on Monday. Oh well, live and learn. Steven, good call! I will not be betting against SD again this season. But I will be picking against the Black and Silver.
I should explain what my “Freedumb DUMB pick of the week” is…It’s actually a crazy pick. One that I like, but not many others would. A pick that no one else would probably make, thus a ‘dumb’ pick.
Also, you’re probably wondering, how many Superbowl contenders do I have?! Well, here are my picks for this season.
AFC
- East: New England
- North: Cincinnati
- South: Indianapolis
- West: Kansas City
- Wildcard: Pittsburgh
- Wildcard: Baltimore
NFC
- East: Philidelphia
- North: Chicago
- South: Carolina
- West: Seattle
- Wildcard: Atlanta
- Wildcard: New York Giants
With San Diego’s performance though…I’m thinking they have a chance too. But Oakland was just horrible. So I don’t know if the Chargers are a good team, or the Raiders are just pathetic. Who do I think is going to be in the Superbowl 2007? I like Chicago vs. Cincinnati. Chicago wins, 24 – 21. (D is probably shaking her head…I’m jinxing her team)
Well, now to think about week 2. My record so far, 5 wins, 3 losses, 0 ties.

Freedumb, are you involved in Fantasy Football at all? I know the season has already started, but what do you think about starting a PF bloggers league?

Steven, Yeah, I am. I’d love to participate in a PF bloggers league, but I don’t think I want to coordinate anything. Maybe next season? I’m already involved in way too many fantasy leagues to keep track of.

LOL. Could we once again experience the Super Bowl Shuffle? Probably not without the Fridge.
I hope you aren’t jinx my team. Although, for now I am still riding on the death to the Packers. Let’s see how long has it been since the Packers were shut out?????? Hmmm.
My Bears played like men. I’m so proud. My mother in law is a Packers fan so my #1 son and I are totally blowing this win up. Hey you got to take it when you can!
You are good! I have no idea how you pick teams and spreads and all that jive. I just love a good game. Maybe some day I will look into this “Fantasy” stuff. Heck, I’m all for Fantasies
I live in them regularly!

If you guys start a PF Fantasy League, I am in…for sure. I didn’t join one this year and I am going through withdrawl bad. I entered my email in this form so just let me know.
Hey D – I’m in Chicago. Bears did kick a little a**. Cannot wait until they stomp Detroit and that little trash talker receiver.
