I’ve got one pick:
- San Diego @ Oakland (+3) - Spread: Oakland, Without: Oakland
Why I like Oakland? The Black & Silver at home?!? Against a division rival? Home opener? Aaron Brooks, Randy Moss, Jerry Porter, Lamont Jordan…I’ve got to go with Oakland. Expect a close game with lots of hitting–something like, Oakland 31 – San Diego 27. Yeah the Chargers have LaDanian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates, but Philip Rivers starting for the first time on the road in Oakland? If he doesn’t get sacked a few times by the Oakland defense, expect the Raider Nation faithfuls to empty their seats and sack Philip themselves. I think it’s going to be a rough start to his career. Oakland will come out on top.
About the other game…Minnesota against Washington? Not as exciting as Oakland vs. San Diego, but should be another good game. If Portis was healthy, I’d be all for Washington, but without Portis, I’d take Minnesota (+4.5 points). I’m not confident on this pick, so I’m not making it an official pick…win or lose, it doesn’t count in my record.

I think this may be where your perfect record goes bad, Freedumb.
But, of course, the bolts are my team, so I’m admittedly biased.

Ouch! FF pretty far off on this pick. Actually, I was shocked a how bad the Raiders looked. 126 total yards? And let’s be honest, half of them came in the last few minutes during garbage against the Charger’s mop up crew.

Man, I am glad I made some other good picks, because this one was COMPLETELY OFF.
Steven, I don’t think I’m going to bet against SD this whole season again.
But I will be picking against Oakland! Screw the Raider Nation. I give Marty credit…great game plan. Give the ball to LT! And Rivers filled in when needed very well. I may have to change my outlook on SD.

That is true, giving the ball the LT is always a good game plan.
