Wow, what a trip. What I originally thought would be a relaxing, “what should I do today?” kind of trip, turned out to be a truly up and down, left and right, everywhere and everyplace kind of trip.
- Power goes out at the wedding! I can already hear the gasps from engaged couples imagining the same situation happening at their wedding. Well, turns out this was one of the most memorable weddings I’ve been to. Why? Because when the power went out, everyone got out of their seats and talked! Including the wedding party, groom and bride, and everyone had a chance to really get to talk to each other. Power was out for about 45 minutes, but during that time, no one was worried (except the restaurant staff who found a backup generator that we used for about 15 minutes…it went on and off, which made for an impromptu musical chairs game), and it was really, really enjoyable. Candles and emergency ‘Exit’ signs lit up the room. Imagine that.
- Miscarriage. The day after the wedding, my friends, who were recently married themselves, had a miscarriage. 8 weeks into the pregnancy. I really didn’t know how to handle this one…My friends are doing okay, but it sure is something that puts life in perspective. I’m sure they will have kids in the future, I guess it just wasn’t the right time. BTW, I’m only posting this because this is an anonymous blog. If it weren’t there’s no way, I’d post this info…sort of strange isn’t it?
- Bonus for my rental car. A full size rental for 1 week plus 150 bonus miles for each day of the rental. Total charge? $140 + gas. Full size car…1050 miles…not bad. Plus, tack on the 3% in ThankYou points.
- On the car subject, I really don’t like the Chevy Monte Carlo. It’s a two door car, but I’ve never had problems with two doors before…The Ford Mustang is an example. I liked that car…but the Monte Carlo, I just could not get comfortable. Seat was too high, seat was too low, back was too perpendicular, back was too low, center arm rest was in the wrong position, steering wheel was too low. It was just awkward. I was glad to be sitting in my truck again when I got home.
Total tab for this trip, including plane fare, dog boarding, wedding gifts, souvenirs, food, and all other expenses? ~$1400.00.

WOW! So sorry to hear about your friends’ miscarriage. That whole trip was an emotional rollercoaster. Oops, I forgot, you don’t get emotional.
Side note: I don’t like your new blogroll setup.
Single Ma, Hmmm…I’m thinking about it…I’ll let you know when I have an idea for the blogroll…
