Just a simple question, what do you think of my new site? Is it too busy? Thanks!
There does seem to be a “text assault” going on here - you might cut it down by moving the Adsense ads further down the page, and moving up the goals bar and picture of Brownie. You could probably also do without the PFBlogs top ten, top posts… although I kind of like recent comments, wish I could figure that out. =) You might also incorporate another color other than green to break it up a little.
Kira, Thank you for your feedback!! I’ll need to think about how to change the color/layout a bit…
As for the “recent comments,” I could not figure out a way to get that to work on blogger.com. I know some people have that though…maybe by using HaloScan or some other service?
I agree with Kira that it looks a little too busy. I would leave the sidebar adsense alone but scrap the adsense inside the posts and under the posts.
Also, you could save a lot of space by making your header smaller and bringing up your sidebars all the way up to the top. It looks like we are using the same template.
It takes time to get it just the way you want it. I’ve been blogging for a year with my template and I’m still not 100% satisfied.
JLP, Thanks for the feedback. I’ll consider making the change to the adsense inside the post and on the bottom.
I think I can figure out changing the title too…I like that idea…I don’t want to steal your layout though!
“Text Assault” is a good way of putting it. I think the Google search box should get pushed down on the right sidebar and your welcome message before it.
I’d rather look at your progress bar and Brownie than an ad. But you can take a look at my blog to understand how I feel about that.
I think the Navigate box at the top could have a smaller font size on the post titles. That would save you some more space, and it would look less like a Google ad. It seems to be the same amount of space height-wise as their ads.
I like the color scheme and I like the way you pushed the horizontal Google ad to the back visually by blending it with the same color as your background.
I’m envious of the layout. I’m still struggling with trying to get a 3-col layout for my new templates in WP.
It really does look great though. Love love love the colors.
Mapgirl, Thanks for the feedback…Kira mentioned the samething about the google ads along the left…I’ve heard that’s the only location that really works, so I’m against moving that right now…
I made the nav box smaller…:) BTW, if you need some help, let me know.
